Introducing the next chapter for a core piece of Richmond’s history – the revitalized Lansdowne Centre.

We’re honoured to partner with Bosa Properties on Phase 1 at Lansdowne to begin transforming the existing shopping destination into a vibrant, mixed-use legacy development that is unique to Richmond.

This first phase will set in motion a Master Plan that brings a high-energy, lifestyle destination to the growing city – encompassing retail, entertainment, culinary, public spaces while providing a range of housing options.

Celebrate July 1st with us at Richmond Canada Day in Steveston. Juno winners Big Sugar is headlining along with Terra Lightfoot, Vince Vaccaro, and many more on our eight stages. We'll have an artisan village, food trucks, street hockey and the night will end with a spectacular fireworks finale.

We're having the party in conjunction with our friends at the Steveston Salmon Festival who will be announcing their lineup any day now too. It's going to be a great day!

In the current plan, a five-acre park, visible from Lansdowne Road, animates the centre of the site, while a grand civic plaza is imagined adjacent to the Lansdowne Canada Line Station. In conjunction with numerous greenways, cycling paths and other park spaces, this will create almost 10 acres of new public amenity. Richmond’s City Centre Area Plan (CCAP) envisions a vibrant, mixed-use community, consisting of retail, office space, a mix of housing, a major park, and a variety of amenities intended to enhance and enliven Lansdowne and the wider community. Working within that context, and the CCAP objectives to “Build Community, Build Green, Build Economic Vitality and Build Legacy,” Vanprop is drafting a Master Plan that we hope will, indeed, serve the community of Richmond, enhance the environment, strengthen the economy and create a lasting legacy.

The shopping centre, located on 50 acres at No. 3 Road and Lansdowne Boulevard, just celebrated its 40th birthday, and we expect it to remain fully operational until 2025 and possibly longer. In the current, phased Master Plan, we propose to begin new development at the east end of the property, allowing the centre to continue to thrive and evolve, as it has in the past four decades.

We intend to keep the shopping centre fully operational through 2025. The site is large enough for a phased development that easily accommodates a fully functional shopping centre for many years. Any decisions about future shopping centre operations will be carefully thought through with utmost consideration for our tenants, clients and customers.

Based on the size and visual prominence of the site, and the need to redevelop the property in phases, Vanprop has prepared a Proposed Master Land Use Plan, a comprehensive document that guides the organization of land uses, public and semi-public space and amenities, transportation systems, services and utilities. A Master Land Use Plan is required to manage a project of this complexity to ensure that it complies with City policies and objectives.
