Our popular PCIEN is back thanks to special funding from the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills.

Introduction to Professional Communication for Internationally Educated Nurses (PCIEN) is a unique course that is team-taught by an ELS faculty member alongside an instructor from the Faculty of Health.

During this 13-week program, you will have a chance to practice your professional communication skills with standardized patients (actors) who are trained to help with your communication goals.

If you are an internationally educated nurse who wants to practice in Canada, this course is for you! It is tuition-free, and it will run on the Surrey campus two times a week.
