LON COMMUNITY PARTNER EVENT:

Moose Hide Campaign Day is an opportunity for our campus and wider community to come together and take responsibility for ending violence against women and children. The Moose Hide Campaign is an Indigenous‑led, grassroots movement grounded in respect, accountability, and care for one another.

DETAILS:

Date: Thursday, May 14
Location: Indigenous Gardens, DJP Campus
Gathering begins at 5:30 a.m.
Sunrise is at 5:50 a.m.
Reflection Circle will take place from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

In the event of rain, the location will be Room N136.

The event is open to students, staff, faculty, and members of the public.

DIRECTIONS AND PARKING:

Parking on campus is free before 8:00 a.m. Those attending the sunrise gathering may park in campus lots without payment prior to that time. Visitors attending later in the morning should plan accordingly or contact Karl for parking support (or any other questions!)

After parking at the Daniel J. Patterson Campus, follow the Wetland Ridge Trail along the southeast edge of the property; if you pass the teaching barn, you are headed in the right direction toward the Indigenous Gardens and sacred fire.

Wearing a small piece of moose hide represents a personal commitment to help end violence and to uphold the safety and dignity of women and children.

More info is on the Niagara College Indigenous Education website.
