Over the past several months, has engaged in a Senate-led process to reimagine the University’s degree architecture in a way that will prioritize student choice, flexibility, accessibility and customization during their studies.

“Students are at the heart of everything we do, and the academic structures we have in place need to prioritize their experiences above all,” says Arja Vainio-Mattila, Provost and Vice-President, Academic.

“The new degree architecture at Brock is at its core about providing students with the choice and flexibility to tailor their degrees in a way that suits their own individual and unique interests, goals and aspirations. It is about supporting student curiosity, creativity and courage." Learn more ➡️ https://loom.ly/__KA46I

An international research team led by a Brock University Department of Earth Sciences professor in collaboration with the Royal Ontario Museum has given stargazers another reason to call Mars the “Red Planet.”

Using the ROM’s specialized laser equipment, the team — which in addition to Brock includes researchers from the ROM, University of Toronto, University of Portsmouth, Università degli studi di Trieste, and The Open University — were surprised to discover garnet, a mineral that had not been identified on Mars until now.

“This discovery is going to expand our knowledge of the geologic processes that are possible on this planet,” says Tanya Kizovski, Assistant Professor of Earth Sciences.

“This new garnet-bearing rock type could give us clues to how Mars has changed throughout its history and new insights into the ancient environments that could have formed the garnet and related minerals.” Learn more ➡️ https://loom.ly/TDrIcGQ
