This year, Champlain Saint-Lambert’s graduating Sport Marketing and Management students raised a record-breaking $28,050 for the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation as part of the annual Champlain Cup fundraiser.

This year, Champlain Saint-Lambert created a new bursary in honour of Cavaliers alumnus Negus McKenna who passed away in 2023 and was posthumously inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Negus McKenna Bursary is presented to a men’s Basketball player who has demonstrated leadership on their team, both on and off of the court. At an awards ceremony held on May 1, the award was presented to student-athlete Ronnell Thomas.

Cette année, Champlain Saint-Lambert a créé une nouvelle bourse en l’honneur de Negus McKenna, ancien joueur des Cavaliers décédé en 2023 et intronisé à titre posthume au Panthéon des sports.

La bourse Negus McKenna est décernée à un joueur de basket-ball masculin qui a fait preuve de leadership au sein de son équipe. Lors d’une cérémonie de remise des prix qui s’est tenue le 1er mai, le prix a été décerné à l’étudiant-athlète Ronnell Thomas.

We are pleased to introduce the featured alumni of the month for May! Nicolas Thomas (World Studies with Math, 2022) is a City Councillor representing District 6 in Brossard, comprising of the city’s T and P sectors.

Elected in November 2025, Thomas is currently balancing his workload at city hall with his studies at McGill where he is working on obtaining his Master of Urban Planning.

Nicolas Thomas (études mondiales avec mathématiques, 2022) est conseiller municipal représentant le 6e district de Brossard. Élu en novembre 2025, M. Thomas concilie actuellement ses fonctions à la mairie avec ses études à l’Université McGill, où il poursuit un programme de maîtrise en urbanisme.

Champlain is proud to announce our featured alumni of the month for April! Noémi Paquin (Social Science Psychology, 2021) is a professional soccer player in the Northern Super League for Montreal’s own Les Roses.

At Champlain, Paquin was named RSEQ Rookie of the Year and the following year, she was crowned RSEQ Women’s Soccer Player of the Year.

In 2024, she played with Miami AC in the USL W League and in 2025, she signed her first professional contract with the Montreal Roses.

Champlain est fier d’annoncer l’ancienne étudiante mise à l’honneur du mois d’avril ! Noémi Paquin (sciences humaines, psychologie, 2021) est joueuse de soccer professionnelle dans la Super Ligue du Nord, au sein de l’équipe montréalaise Les Roses.

Paquin a été nommée recrue de l'année de la RSEQ et, l'année suivante, elle a été couronnée joueuse de Soccer féminin de l'année de la RSEQ.

En 2024, elle a joué avec le Miami AC et, en 2025, elle a signé son premier contrat professionnel avec les Roses de Montréal.

Champlain's women's basketball team will play for provincial gold on Sunday, March 8 at 3:30PM against the Géantes. The provincials are taking place at Cegep Montmorency in Laval. We hope to see you there to cheer on the Cavaliers!

Each month, Champlain is proud to highlight the accomplishments of one of its graduates. This month, we put the spotlight on Serguei Gamache (Sport Marketing, 2016).

Gamache is the vice-president and co-founder of Recap Hydration, a business that began in the beverage market and has recently moved into electrolyte powders. Gamache created the company not long after graduating from Champlain Saint-Lambert, using his knowledge of marketing and business to find an opening in the competitive beverage industry.

Champlain College, in collaboration with Kezber, is offering a full-day training focused on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, business process automation and the practical use of Microsoft Copilot. This training day is designed to provide a clear understanding of current technological realities, emerging practices and concrete ways these tools are being applied in real-world environments.
