BQ Aboriginal Head Start Notice to Blue Quills HeadStart Parents

Unfortunately, over the past several months, the Public Health Agency of Canada has not been responding in a timely fashion to some of our inquiries and report submissions as we were working in good faith to clarify understandings and make corrections. They have now terminated funding for the Blue Quills HeadStart Program effective immediately.
I am truly sorry that this will disrupt your plans for your children this fall. I am trying to arrange a meeting with the Agency to resolve the situation and will share any further news as it becomes available.

We are happy to announce the winner of the UnBQ Orange Shirt Day Logo Design Contest.

The winning design came from Anthony Neapetung from Yellow Quill First Nation and who is also a 2nd year UnBQ student in the CEMT Diploma Technologist Program.

We will be selling the new design on youth shirts, adult shirts, and crewneck sweaters.

To pre-order a shirt or crewneck sweater, please submit your pre-order by emailing [email protected] indicating the item and size.

When available, the shirts can be purchased at the UnBQ Campus Store located in the Trades Building.

WINHEC Youth Day 🌎

Youth from Australia, Norway, and the USA visited UnBQ for a day of cultural exchange. The group tried hoop dancing with Youth Ambassador Jenika Shirt and toured Saddle Lake Cree Nation, including the Pow Wow Arbour, Youth Centre, and Saddle Lake Beach.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share our culture and appreciated the meaningful exchange of knowledge and connections made throughout the day. 🪶
