On May 13, we celebrated the very first perseverance ceremony honouring Nunavimmiut students at Collège Montmorency.

This evening was filled with emotion, pride and recognition for our students, who demonstrated incredible determination throughout the school year.

This year reminded us that the college journey can sometimes be demanding. Despite the challenges, our students continued moving forward with courage, solidarity and resilience. We are extremely proud of the journey each of them has accomplished.

Tonight, at Collège Montmorency, we celebrate the perseverance of Nunavimmiut students 💙

Every year, Inuit students leave their communities to pursue college studies in French. Behind every completed semester, there is courage, adaptation, resilience, and tremendous determination.

School perseverance is not about having a perfect journey. It’s about continuing despite the challenges… and believing that anything is possible ✨

We are proud to see one of our sponsored students, Madeline Yaaka, recognized by Governor General Mary Simon at the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.

"She is promoting stronger connections between medical education and the realities of Nunavik.

She is advocating for more Inuit to become doctors, not only to serve their communities, but also to transform the system from within.

She returns home whenever she can, visiting schools and youth programs, sharing her story."
