The Indigenous Student Centre at Lambton College is a designated space for Indigenous (First Nation, Inuit and Métis) Students. The Centre provides a friendly, supportive environment where the staff is devoted to helping Indigenous students achieve their goals while studying at Lambton College. The Centre opened in 1992 and has since grown and developed while being guided by the Indigenous Educati
on Council which is made up of First Nation communities, Indigenous organizations, students, staff and administration. The Centre was updated in 2011 and now offers a larger, brighter space with a vibrant atmosphere. It is equipped with study carousels/tables, workspace, computer area, kitchen facilities and a lounge area. Students have access to academic advising, personal support, cultural advising, financial support, traditional elders, visiting speakers, tutoring, academic & cultural workshops, laptop/iPad loan program and a monthly lunch program. The Indigenous Student Centre's objectives are to ensure a smooth transition and a solid connection to Lambton College and cultural opportunities while providing ongoing support towards the successful completion of the student's program.
