🔋 From concept to full vehicle integration.

The Battery Workforce Challenge is a three-year, student-led North American competition where university and college teams design, build, and integrate advanced EV battery systems into real vehicles. The final stage is now underway, with end-of-year competition events taking place this week in Detroit.

Over the past three years, Lambton College has proudly partnered with the University of Waterloo as one of eight teams working on a Ram ProMaster EV from Stellantis.

Students have led every stage of the project, from concept through to build and integration, gaining hands-on experience aligned with real industry processes. Lambton College's Research & Innovation team supported this work by providing technical guidance and helping ensure designs could be successfully built with available tools and resources.

This competition reflects what applied research does best, bridging classroom learning with industry-driven innovation, and preparing the next generation of talent in EV and advanced manufacturing.
