Can you tell the difference between a snowshoe hare and a white-tailed jackrabbit? 🐇
Although they are very similar, snowshoe hares can be distinguished from the white-tailed jackrabbit by their smaller size, smaller ears, and larger, furry feet which help them move over the snow throughout the winter. Snowshoe hares are mostly found in mixed woodland and swampy areas.

"Cities are ever growing, and this growth has long-lasting effects on our landscape and the animals who live there. Established in 2020, YXEwildlife is Saskatoon's very first, city-wide urban wildlife monitoring research study. Our aim is to understand the impact that cities have on wildlife, and to promote co-existence through knowledge and education. We are happy to share these amazing photos of wildlife living in Saskatoon!" -Katie Harris (Project Lead), PhD Candidate, USask
