Saskatoon’s downtown bakery scene is vibrant and cozy, blending modern artisan cafes with creative sweet shops and neighborhood staples. On this 30-minute cycling tour, you'll graze your way through six family-owned bakeries and cafés, sampling sourdough pastries, fancy donuts, and fresh-made bagels. You'll also ride past some of the city's most interesting architecture and riverfront landmarks along the way.

If you prefer to walk, it will take a little over an hour from the first to last stop. Directions assume you are cycling, but you can easily follow them on foot.

VVCA Fall 2026 Program
ESL Advanced Spoken English

Instructor John Lenz was a 25-year ESL instructor at the USask Language Centre and has a great desire to help Saskatoon’s newcomers with this challenging language of ours.

This class would focus on:
• Small group discussion skills – teaching how to participate effectively in small-group conversations in Canada
• Clear communication – helping students to be better understood by focusing on various aspects of pronunciation instruction
• Vocabulary development – broadening students’ academic and daily-life vocabulary

Enrolment limited to 14 participants. IELTS of at least 5.5 recommended (no test score required).

Advanced ESL IELTS & CELPIP Test Preparation

This class would focus on:
• preparation and practice for the IELTS & CELPIP tests.
• Spoken and Written skills, with only minor attention paid to the Reading and Listening sections of the tests.
• development of actual spoken and written competence, not simply “tricks to master these tests”.

Enrolment limited to 14 participants. IELTS of at least 5.5 recommended (no test score required).

Yoga — Yin

The Yin Yoga class series will be offered with the intent to provide balance to our energetic and nervous systems and to bolster our spirits as we gather to unwind and are guided towards a night’s rest and repose. Yin yoga is a meditative practice with an emphasis on staying in forms/shapes in relative stillness, with breath, for some time (2-5+ minutes).
