Horizon College & Seminary Advancing God's Kingdom by Preparing Competent Christian Leaders

Our goal and focus at Horizon is to prepare leaders for Christian life and ministry, whether that ministry be volunteer or professional. We aim to make our students better and more reflective thinkers about God and about Christian responsibility in our world. We aim to equip our students to be skilled practitioners of the Christian faith, ready for hands-on ministry in the local church and other settings. Whether you're preparing for professional ministry or are planning to transfer classes to the University of Saskatchewan or to go on to another vocation, it's essential to us that each student at Horizon more intimately develops her or his personal relationship with God. More specifically, though, our aim is to prepare you to live out that relationship concretely, practicing real-life, hands-on Christianity.

With extensive experience as a counsellor, educator, and supervisor, Dr. Winnie Yeung brings a wealth of knowledge in counselling, trauma, relationships, and family systems. This November, she will be teaching the Seminary course, "Counselling Across Cultures."

Winnie has taught graduate students at several institutions and continues to mentor future counsellors and ministry leaders. Outside of her work, she enjoys reading, antique hunting, and spending time with her family—including her three adult children and four grandchildren.

Lord,

Thank You for every student You’ve called to this season of learning and growth. Give them insight as they study, courage as they step into new challenges, and hearts that remain attentive to Your voice.

Surround them with meaningful friendships, encouraging mentors, and opportunities to serve. Strengthen them when the work feels demanding, deepen their love for You and Your Word, and continue shaping them into faithful leaders who will build up Your Church.

May this be a year marked by growth—and all for Your glory.
