Today, we remember the fire fighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

Across our province and across Canada, we honour those who answered the call, stood shoulder to shoulder with their brothers and sisters, and gave everything in the line of duty.

Their sacrifice is carried forward by every fire fighter who continues to answer the call.

25 YEARS. NEVER FORGOTTEN.

Twenty-five years later, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, after unspeakable acts of terrorism took the lives of so many. We honour all of the fire fighters, paramedics, police officers, and civilians who never made it home.

We remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the families and communities forever changed that day.

We remember. We honour. We will never forget.

CONGRATULATIONS to our own Paul Hills for receiving a 2026 International Association of Fire Fighters Local Leadership Award at the 58th IAFF Convention in Arlington, Texas today. For over two decades Paul served tirelessly as a paramedic, union leader and advocate for his profession and paramedics across Canada. His passion and dedication is unmatched and the award is very well deserved. He continues to hold a position with the Saskatoon Paramedics as well as he is currently driving forward mental health initiatives for first responders with his position at Homewood Health Centre.
