Science Writing Basics for First-Year Students: Lab Reports and Research Summaries
Zoom
Monday at 5 p.m.
As an undergraduate student taking science courses, you will likely be required to write both lab reports and research summaries.
Lab reports require you to present experiments in a clear, organized, and objective manner. In this workshop, you will learn about the IMRaD structure (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion), which is commonly used in scientific writing. The workshop will also cover key conventions and expectations for scientific writing.
Research summaries help you develop a deeper understanding of complex scientific studies and communicate that understanding to others. You will learn strategies for synthesizing critical information, evaluating the validity of research, and effectively communicating key findings.
