🧡 Truth and Reconciliation Through Connection, Culture, and Learning 🧡

Our students came together for meaningful events at Sault College in recognition of Truth and Reconciliation. Together, we worked with the four sacred medicines and created our own medicine bundles, took time to appreciate the powerful sound of the drum, and made meaningful connections with one another.

These moments remind us of the importance of creating spaces where Indigenous culture, teachings, and traditions can be honoured and celebrated.

Miigwech to everyone who joined us, shared in these experiences, and helped make these gatherings so meaningful. ❤️

Indigenous Studies is honoured to have a sacred fire burning throughout the day with Firekeeper Greg Boissoneau.

The sacred fire is a place to gather, reflect, pray, offer to***co, share teachings, and connect with one another. It is a place where we can slow down and spend time with the fire in a respectful and meaningful way.

Miigwech to Greg for sharing his knowledge and helping us understand the importance of carrying these teachings forward. ❤️🔥

What a night for Bannock on a Stick! ☀️⛈️

We couldn't have asked for better weather to start, blue skies, bright sunshine, and a fantastic turn-out of familiar and new faces gathered around the fire.

The storm clouds rolled in right on cue. We saw the rain coming and managed to pack up just in time, escaping only a little bit wet.

Miigwech to everyone who joined us last night and made it such a special gathering. We loved sharing the fire with you! 🔥
