Join us for an afternoon of culture, community, food, and learning as we come together to celebrate Indigenous Month!

🎬 Screening of RUMBLE – the award-winning documentary exploring the profound influence Indigenous Peoples have had on modern music

This event is open to all students, staff, faculty, and community members. Whether you're looking to learn, connect, support Indigenous vendors, or simply enjoy some great food and company, all are welcome!

The Algoma District School Board warmly invites community members to a special presentation with James Vukelich Kaagegaabaw, an internationally recognized Ojibwe author, speaker, digital creator, and Indigenous language advocate.

James is the author of The Seven Generations and the Seven Grandfather Teachings and has dedicated his life to preserving and sharing Indigenous language, culture, and teachings. Drawing from years of learning alongside Elders and Native language speakers across North America, he will share powerful insights on living a good life (mino-bimaadiziwin) and the importance of Indigenous knowledge and language revitalization.

Big congratulations to Bear Creek on winning Traditional Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year at the Juno Awards! 🎉👏

This is an incredible and well-deserved achievement, and a proud moment for our community. Bear Creek has been a strong and steady presence for many years, sharing their gifts through music, culture, and connection.

We are especially grateful for the role they have played as host and co-host drum for the Gathering at the Rapids Pow Wow over the years—helping to carry forward tradition and bring people together in a good way.
