Algoma University

Algoma University Public university with a Special Mission of cross-cultural learning. Undergrad & Master's programs. Welcome to Algoma University's page. The Sault Ste.

We're glad you're here. This page provides a place to discuss all things Algoma: our programs, research, campus, events, news and announcements, and more. As a teaching-focused university, Algoma provides a range of degrees and certificates spanning the liberal arts, sciences and professional disciplines; including offerings through its Schools of Business and Economics, Computer Science and Techn

ology, Life Sciences and the Environment and Social Work. Located on three unique campus locations in Sault Ste. Marie, Brampton and Timmins, Algoma offers an immersive and personal educational experience. Algoma prides itself on being student-centric, offering endless opportunities inside and outside the classroom. Classes are kept small and professors are always available to help. Experiential learning is a crucial element of Algoma’s approach, helping students apply what they learn in the real world. Marie campus, located on the site of the former Shingwauk Indian Residential School, provides a unique, historically rich setting for a cross-cultural community in which Anishinaabe (First Nation, Métis, and Inuit), Canadian, and international students learn from one another in a spirit of friendship and respect while advancing efforts to address truth, healing and reconciliation. In order to address community needs, Algoma continues to expand facilities and programming in downtown Brampton. New initiatives such as the Centre for Social, Cultural and Economic Innovation and aviation management programming, expand upon degree and certificate offerings in business, computer science and psychology. Algoma offers numerous graduate certificates, aimed at students who have already completed a degree. Certificates provide students with an opportunity to broaden their knowledge, while developing new perspectives in new disciplines, giving them an edge in the post-graduate job market.
