NEW IRCC UPDATE: STUDY WITHOUT A STUDY PERMIT

As of September 9, 2026, eligible open work permit holders already in Canada may be able to complete a short-term program of study without applying for a separate study permit.

Under IRCC’s new temporary public policy:

✅ You must hold a valid open work permit
✅ Your entire program — including placement/work experience — must be 6 months or less
✅ The program must be completed before your work permit expires
✅ Eligible open work permit holders do not need a new work permit for a practicum or work placement

This temporary policy is currently scheduled to remain in effect until December 31, 2027.

Learning how to care with confidence, compassion & understanding.

Our students recently completed GPA® – Gentle Persuasive Approaches in Dementia Care, building practical skills for supporting individuals living with dementia and responsive behaviours.

Another skill gained. Another step closer to making a difference in healthcare.

Learning beyond the classroom! 💙

Our Mental Health & Addiction students recently visited CAMH for a meaningful day of learning, reflection and connection. Experiences like these help students deepen their understanding of mental health services, community supports and the important work happening in the field.

A wonderful day of growth, new perspectives and shared memories! 🌿
