🫎🀎 Standing together for healing, accountability, and respect.

Join us on May 14, 2026 for Moose Hide Campaign Day at Bishop’s University as we take part in livestream events, workshops, conversations, and community gathering focused on ending violence against women, children, and all people.

The Moose Hide Campaign reminds us that reconciliation begins with action β€” through kindness, education, accountability, and supporting Indigenous voices and communities. Every step toward respect and safety matters.

Today, May 5th, we honour Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people.
This day raises awareness of the ongoing violence faced by Indigenous communities and recognizes the lives that have been lost, as well as those still missing.
We stand in solidarity with families, survivors, and communities.
We remember. We honour. We call for justice.

This weekend we had our last land-based session of the semester. We had a good time finishing our shelter and spending time on the land before exams started. We ate some yummy moose burgers over the fire πŸ”₯ πŸ˜‹ We are grateful for knowledge holder David McComber for sharing his teachings over the past 4 years now. πŸ’œ

This Saturday we had a great time in the sun making a shelter using fallen trees. We learned knot making skills, how to create a tripod, and had great food over the fire. Save the date for next land-based learning on April 11th from 10-3pm. We will finish building the shelter, make a bed, and create a fire wall. Always thankful for David McComber and his teachings πŸ’œ

A HUGE thank you to all who came out yesterday to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of Kwigw8mna. The weather was great and the people present were even greater!πŸ’œ

We started the day with launching the Tbestawaw8gan project. An educational tool made with Indigenous voices to help combat racialization and discrimination in our institutions and to provide tools on how to prevent or intervene. Soon available on BU website under the Indigenous Student Success Center. We also have some printed copies. Reach out if you are interested in one.

We then had some great speeches by those involved in the Kwigw8mna project and use the building. Followed by some amazing food by Jacques T. Watso and other Odanak community members (Paul & Philippe O’Bomsawin & some youth helping out) & Yves Tremblay

Lastly, we finished off with some tours and screening of the Kwigw8mna Documentary. It was a well rounded day full of love and lots of support πŸ’œ

Thank you to everyone who made this day possible!!
