It's time to meet the team! Say hello to Kyla Ewasiuk, Dean of Programs.
Kyla completed her Glider Pilot License through the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Scholarship program in 1995 and completed her Private Pilot license through the same program in 1996.
She attended the NAIT Aviation Pilot Training program and graduated in 2000, completing her Commercial Pilot License and Multi-Engine rating in 2001. Kyla earned her Instrument Rating in 2002, and her Class 4 instructor rating in 2006.
Kyla then began instructing at Namao Flying Club in 2006, and transitioned to the Edmonton Flying Club in 2008. Shortly thereafter, Kyla was promoted to Chief Flight Instructor and served in that position from 2008 to 2010, taking time off afterwards to raise a family.
Kyla returned to aviation in 2016 to develop and teach the Aviation Management and Pilot Training diploma Program at Solomon College. She then returned to flight instruction in 2018, renewing her Class 2 Instructor rating and serving as an Assistant Flight Instructor. Kyla upgraded her Instructor rating to Class 1 in August of 2019, and accepted the position of Chief Flight Instructor at ACA in January 2021.
Kyla has over 3000 hours total, of which over 2000 have been attained as a flight instructor on the same aircraft type currently flown at ACA. In 2025, Kyla received an honourable mention for the DCAM Flight Instructor Safety Award for significant contributions to advancing Canadian aviation safety.
Effective January 2026, Kyla advanced into the role of Dean of Programs for ACA and oversees all academic programs offered by the College.
