Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced yesterday the creation of the Prime Minister’s Youth Council, a body of thirty young Canadians aged 16 to 24, who will provide non-partisan advice to the Prime Minister on national issues such as employment, access to education, building stronger communities as well as climate change and clean growth, among others.

Youth will be able to apply online to join the Youth Council as of this Friday, July 22. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis: a first wave of Council members will be selected by October 2016, and a second wave of Council members will be selected by early 2017.

Further information on the Youth Council and the application process is available at Canada.ca/youth, and on social media through the hashtag .

And MSLC 2016 comes to a close!

Thanks to everyone who came out today! I feel that today was a great success.

And That includes our speakers and volunteer staff as well. These types of events and programs do not run without the support and help from student volunteers and community members.

And a special thanks to MSLC Student Coordinator, Michelle, who did such a fabulous job of piecing together both our thoughts (and my scribbled notes) into a fabulous conference.

It's been a long day, but it's a good kind of tired. Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I'll see you all again!

MSLC is TOMORROW! It's amazing how fast the winter is going!

Registration opens at 8:30am in the BRUNEAU CENTRE (the blue building next to the library) and our Welcome and Keynote kicks off at 9:30am.

And, as expected, another winter storm is on our heels. We've been monitoring the forecast and it seems as if the worst of it (being less than 10 cm) will pass over during lunch and then turn to rain. So as of now the conference is a GO! However, an e-mail will be sent to all registered participants by 7am Saturday morning to confirm.

It's not too late to register. Sign up here: https://munlp.typeform.com/to/LfRs6I

MSLC 2016 IS POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH 5.

Due to inclement weather tonight into tomorrow, and potentially hazardous driving conditions in the morning and afternoon on Saturday, we've decided to postpone the conference until March 5th. If you have already registered, you will not need to register again. However, please let us know if you are no longer able to attend.

We are absolutely devastated to have to move the date, but in the end, it's about safety. Please enjoy your Saturday and we'll see you in March!
