Think you can turn data into insights?

The CPA-NL Data & Analytics Competition 2026 is back October 23–25, bringing Memorial students together to tackle a real-world challenge facing Newfoundland and Labrador’s offshore oil and gas industry.

Hosted by the Faculty of Business Administration in partnership with CPA-NL and Cenovus Energy, this case competition gives students the opportunity to:

📊 Apply data analytics to a real-world business challenge
🤝 Work as a team and connect with industry professionals
💡 Strengthen problem-solving and presentation skills
🏆 Compete for $5,000 in cash prizes
🚀 Explore careers in data analytics, accounting and business analytics

The competition is open to current Memorial undergraduate and graduate students. Teams of four are required, with at least two undergraduate students who have declared a major in Business Administration.

Registration closes Friday, October 9. Participation is free, with meals and snacks provided.

Only 12 teams will be accepted, with eligible teams considered in the order complete registrations are received.

Women+ in academia: Building community and shaping change is a first-of-its-kind event centred on the experiences of women, non-binary and gender-diverse faculty members and postdoctoral researchers at Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador.

As a Memorial Engineering student, you’ll meet globally-recognized professors and researchers who lead the world in their fields. You’ll study in newly-constructed labs with access to the latest technology. You’ll participate in our co-op program and graduate with up to two full years of paid industry experience under your belt.
