The Commons is Memorial University's student learning hub, located on the main floor of the Queen Elizabeth II Library. We are your one-stop shop for research, writing, and computing support, and we provide access to print, electronic, and technology resources to the Memorial University community. The Commons is a partnership between Information Technology Services, the Queen Elizabeth II Library,

the Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, and the Writing Centre. The Commons provides specialized technology and additional tutoring services in the Digital Media Centre to allow students to work on video, sound, and picture editing as well as scanning and colour printing. The Commons also provides assistive technologies and tutorials to help students with disabilities achieve their full academic potential.

Whether you're moving into residence, or getting settled ahead of the Fall semester rush, visit the Computing Support Desk on the main floor of the QEII Library to connect to the wifi, create your LabNet account, and get funds on your printing account.

Look for a helpful staff member in a red vest!

The Spring 2026 semester is officially wrapped, which means we're switching to our summer schedule:

📍 The library is closed on weekends
📍 The DMC is closed until September 8
📍 The Makerspace is open 1-4pm only, August 17-28
📍 The Computing Support Desk is open weekdays from 10 am to 4 pm

We'll be back to regular hours when the Fall term starts! 🍂

No Regatta Roulette for us tonight.

We're open for regular hours tomorrow, regardless of whether or not the races go ahead. Makerspace hours will be reduced to 12-3pm on Regatta Day.
