We only have 1 spot left in most of the programs, some days are full. The weather looks great Thursday so the group wanted another program at the river. Our back up plan will be going out for lunch on rainy or cold days.

Once we're full those interested can be added on the waitlist because things often come up in the summer time. we'll also be heading on spontaneous trips on nice days so we have started a list for those that would be interested

We have 2 spots open still for our Thursday Brunch Group which is only $5!

As well as 2 spots open for our Baking Program at $35 / session

Our Friday lunch outing group is full! we are looking for 1 final sponsor which we hope to finalize early next week so we are good to resume on Friday.

Thanks to our Hockey Fundraiser, donations from No Socks Hockey, Janet Snell, Ashley Hennessy, an anonymous family donor and our chilli / soup donators Erin Kaufman, Kayla Hamilton, Kathy Bibby, Janet Snell, Jenn Turner and our silent auction donors (will do a separate post) we are able to offer some subsidized programs this summer and give one low income participant a free spot in the program for 1 year!

These prices will cover June / July / August

- *New Price* Our baking program was able to be subsidized so it is now only $35 / session
- Brunch Program - $5 per session
- Community Outing Program $20 per session
- All day Thursday option 10am - 3pm $25 per session

Our group programs are small to allow everyone to participate and so it is less stimulating. Spots are limited and will fill up fast.

For new clients that haven't come to a program before we will come do a home visit to make sure it's a good fit. We try out best to allow everyone the opportunity to participate. These groups are best for individuals who are able to participate in a group, independent getting in and out of a vehicle - we have room for walkers, and independent in the washroom - cueing is no problem.

We will also have our Friday Lunch Outing group which we are currently looking for business sponsors - will do a separate post about this.

**Outings may change for the community outings, once I get an idea for numbers I will book the outings that need reservations, this is a proposed schedule**

We had a cool idea planned for our summer programming for a new program we were hoping to announce this week but unfortunately insurance is just crazy right now and although we shopped around just couldn't find anything to cover it. We will keep the idea in our back pocket and hopefully be able to make that dream come true next summer.

That being said we have pivoted and decided to use the money raised from our hockey tournament fundraiser and some anonymous donations to subsidize some of our current programs as well as potentially our new community outing program. I have taken down the post made about the community outing program as I make these edits.

More information to come hopefully tomorrow, May 21st, 2026.

Thank you to KDB Law for sponsoring our community outing program. We celebrated our last official outing of the session at Anna Mae’s! First we made a pit stop at the river to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Katie and her team have stepped up anytime we’ve been looking for a sponsor for our community outing or our fundraisers. They really care about our community and there is no one I’d rather trust as my lawyer.

We are planning to trial a new Community Outing Group this summer

Each Wednesday afternoon there will be a different outing offered (see list in pictures). Participants can sign up for the program of their choosing. See below for more information.

This will be maxed at 6 participants, pricing may change if the program isn't full. Ride to and from the program / entry fee / food are all included in the price. Must live in Stratford for the ride unless on the way to the program if out of town.

For new participants a home visit will happen prior to the program so participants are familiar with the staff that will be picking them up / dropping off and ensure it'll be a good fit

This is a dementia specific program, for the first time we are also considering duplicating this program on a different day for isolated seniors.

A little more information:
Transitions Acres - Participants will groom, feed and walk with horses at a beautiful farm just outside of Tavistock

Imagined Canvas - The group will either do an instructor led art project or complete a project of their choosing with multiple options

Black Creek Flower Farm - We will head to the beautiful flower farm to make our own flower bouquets. We'll sit amongst the flowers and socialize / play games if time allows. We also aim to do one evening pick where there will be some live music.

Boat House - The group will head to the boat house for a popular boat ride around the Avon River, afterwards we'll enjoy an ice cream and coffee

Picnic at the Pond - We'll head over to the Shakespeare pond to have a picnic, enjoying the scenic view on the drive over (taking the back roads)

Pizza at the River - The group will enjoy some pizza beside the Avon River and play some lawn games
