https://linkin.bio/sharpsurrey The Salmon Habitat Restoration Program (SHaRP) is a student-based initiative that promotes watershed stewardship and salmon habitat enhancement in Surrey. For more than 25 years, SHaRP's role in the community has been to protect and improve the quality of Surrey's natural environment. SHaRP is comprised of university and high school students working to promote Surrey

's natural areas through habitat enhancement and environmental education opportunities. The students receive career-orientated job experience and training in the environmental field.

💧 Water Quality Wednesday at Serpentine River! 🐟🌿

Using the Water Rangers kit, we tested key water quality metrics like conductivity, dissolved oxygen, pH, and chlorine to better understand stream conditions for salmon.

Follow along with WQW until November to learn more about Surrey’s streams and what makes healthy salmon habitat! 🌊

Plus, join us for Wild Salmon Day on June 1st from 3–7 PM at 8972 Queen Mary Blvd for activities, games, and learning for all ages!

🎨🐟 Join SHaRP at River Connections: Art, Nature, and Salmon on Sunday, May 31 at Clayton Community Centre!

Come by for a fun, family-friendly afternoon of nature-inspired art and salmon learning. Activities include eco-printing, painting colourful wooden fish, and an underwater life presentation with a biologist.

🐟🌊 We had an amazing time celebrating World Fish Migration Day at Quibble Creek!

Thank you to everyone who came out to learn about local salmon habitats, add colourful fish cut-outs to the fence, and celebrate the importance of healthy streams for migratory fish here in Surrey.

We’re excited to be part of a global movement helping connect people with rivers, fish, and the ecosystems they depend on. 💙

You can join us next at River Connections: Art, Nature, and Salmon at Clayton Community Centre on May 31 from 1 PM to 4:30 PM, where you’ll have the chance to paint more wooden fish and take part in more fun, salmon-themed activities!

Coho Salmon release at Cougar Creek!! 🐟🌿

We joined the Cougar Creek Streamkeepers to help release young coho into the freshwater stream, giving them the start of their journey through Surrey’s salmon habitat.

Fun fact: Coho salmon can spend over a year in freshwater before heading out to the ocean!
