✨ Meet our next magazine featured alum - Shannon Savage ✨

She grew up noticing something no one else seemed to question: women’s athletic wear wasn’t designed for women like her - small, athletic, and, you know, a girl.

That observation shaped Shannon Savage’s path from a small-town athlete to a designer helping redefine an industry. At KPU, she found a fashion program known for its rigour and real‑world focus, gaining the technical foundation and industry insight that would carry her into a pivotal role during lululemon’s global rise.

In 2017, she co‑founded Left on Friday, built on a simple idea: performance and style for real, active women shouldn’t be a compromise.

That vision reached its peak when Canada’s Olympic beach volleyball team competed in Paris wearing her designs.
From spotting a gap to building a globally recognized brand, her work proves that the strongest ideas don’t just enter industries, they reshape them.

At KPU, transformation starts with opportunity and grows through experience.

Our alum, Priya Ramesh, chose the Melville School of Business for its strong reputation in practical, industry-aligned education, gaining hands-on experience in product development, technical project management, business strategy, and innovation leadership.

Through collaborative learning, real-world projects, and faculty with industry expertise, KPU provides an environment where students don’t just learn, they build the confidence and capabilities to lead.

Today, Priya is the Founder & CEO of BabyVibe App Inc. and Co-Founder & President of AuraPure Water, demonstrating how KPU graduates apply their knowledge to create meaningful change in both industry and community.

KPU is proud to empower learners to become leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

Building a sustainable career in the arts requires more than technical skill. It demands a clear understanding of one's own motives and workflow. We recently had the pleasure of hosting Ricardo Rioja Buenfil, a talented Entertainment Arts KPU alumnus, for a workshop focused on these exact themes.

Ricardo shared an honest perspective on his artistic journey and the decisions that shaped his path. The event brought together our community both in person and online, culminating in a powerful Q&A session dedicated to the next generation of visual effects artists and creators.

You can now watch the full workshop and Q&A on YouTube.
