Bees build the ecosystems our food systems depend on.
At KPU, researchers in the Applied Genomics Centre (AGC), supported by Genome BC, are working to stop a highly infectious disease that can destroy entire honeybee colonies. Using advanced DNA testing, the team is helping beekeepers detect and track American foulbrood disease, giving them the tools to protect their hives and livelihoods. “This study is the first of its kind in B.C., focusing on bacterial brood disease that ultimately destroys hives,” says Dr. Fahim Raza.

It’s National Health and Fitness Day on June 6! Let’s celebrate by moving and staying active. KPU’s Sports and Recreation department has lots of activities coming your way!

Join us for fun and games on Wednesday, May 27 at the KPU Surrey, Maple Courtyard from 12 PM – 4 PM and Monday, June 1 at the KPU Tech, Student Lounge from 11 AM – 1 PM.

The Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Awards are presented annually by the Office of Equity and Inclusive Communities at KPU.
