It has been one month since brought together some of our brightest student innovators, industry professionals, faculty, alumni and community partners for the annual Student Pitch Competition, and we are still inspired by the ideas and talent that took the stage.

Looking back, the competition reinforced what makes the Melville experience special: innovation in action, meaningful industry connections and students with the confidence and entrepreneurial mindset to turn ideas into impact.

A big congratulations to Melville instructors Sarah Lee and Freddy Mason on receiving KPU’s Distinguished Team Service Award.
We are especially proud of this team for how they have successfully forged meaningful connections between our students and industry through their numerous student focused initiatives such as the Careers in Accounting event series, Konnect Roundtable etc.
Their commitment to collaboration, professionalism and student success continues to strengthen Melville’s student-industry engagement and enrich the learning experience for hundreds of our students.

Last Tuesday, we had the privilege of attending the 25 Under 25 Awards as a Presenting Sponsor.
The event was a powerful celebration of young professionals, entrepreneurs and community leaders who are making meaningful contributions across industries and communities. We were honoured to support an initiative that recognizes innovation, leadership and excellence among emerging talent.

The 2026 KPU Student Pitch Competition was everything we anticipated and more!

Last Friday, bold student entrepreneurs took the stage to pitch, defend and own their ideas in front of industry experts. They were drilled and had to withstand intense questioning from the panel, rising to the challenge with confidence and clarity.
From real-world solutions to scalable ventures, every pitch brought energy, creativity, and grit.

It really was an incredible showing at this year’s HRC West Case Competition.

This month, we welcomed 16 teams from business schools across British Columbia and Alberta in the competition and it was a true showcase of talent. We are proud to share that KPUmelville students rose to the occasion, representing MSB with professionalism, teamwork, and sharp analytical thinking, they delivered an outstanding performance from start to finish.

We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication and the way they showed up on such a competitive stage.
