The Nationals have officially started!

Skills Canada National Competition 2026 is taking place May 28 and 29 at Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario, bringing together talented competitors from across the country to put their skills to the test.

Human Biography was onsite for a video shoot coordinated by SkillPlan in partnership with BC Building Trades for the College of the BC Building Trades’ promotional video.

It was a great opportunity to highlight the hands-on learning, skill development, and industry-focused training happening at our Valley Training Centre. We’re looking forward to seeing the final video and sharing more soon.

Applications close May 31 for the 2026 BC Building Trades Indigenous Apprentice Bursary.

This bursary supports Indigenous apprentices in B.C. who are enrolled in a recognized trades training program. Two $2,500 bursaries are available.

Members of BC Building Trades affiliated unions are encouraged to apply and share this opportunity with eligible apprentices.

The summit will focus on reducing stigma, building awareness, and sharing practical tools to help support workers, colleagues, and workplaces.
