As July approaches its end, the CBUSU executive team just wanted to give a little highlight of what we have been up to! The team had the amazing opportunity to attend two conferences in June and one conference in July — giving us the chance to learn, engage, and become better student leaders for you.
June started with the team attending Maritime Student Congress in StFX, Antigonish - organized by StudentsNS. From there we were able to meet other student leaders across the Maritimes, attend informative presentations and listen to guest speaker sessions, including student leaders of the past and admin staff. We learned how to advocate more strategically, build important relationships, and, overall, be the best student leaders possible.
The second conference the entire team was able to attend was Campus Trust APO, where we learned all things related to our domestic health and dental plan. There were many insightful sessions and presentations from health care providers that we attended. During this conference, our President & CEO Paarth Mehla stepped up and became apart of the Board of Trustees. We are confident that we will continue to bring the best health and dental plan for our students.
In the middle of July, Students NS’s held their Annual General Meeting at Cape Breton University. Maritime Student leaders came together for advocacy and year-long planning. It was an informative time to connect and strategize for students on the year going forward.
