Volunteer Opportunity – Sport Performance Student Volunteer CoachCapers Strength & Conditioning Program

The Capers Strength & Conditioning team is looking for motivated student volunteers to support the development of our varsity athletes. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain valuable experience in a high-performance training environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist Strength & Conditioning staff in leading warm-ups, training sessions, and recovery work
- Support the setup, operation, and takedown of training equipment (racks, weights, timing gates, force plates, etc.)
- Collect and record athlete performance data during testing and monitoring sessions
- Provide encouragement and feedback to athletes in a professional and supportive manner
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and positive training environment
- Attend scheduled team training sessions and contribute to the daily flow of the weight room
- Participate in staff development opportunities and maintain open communication with the coaching staff
Qualifications:
- Current CBU student (all programs welcome; Sport and Physical Activity Leadership (SPAL) preferred)
- Strong interest in strength & conditioning, athletic development, or sport performance
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated to learn in a team environment
- Comfortable working with athletes in a fast-paced training setting
- Basic knowledge of strength training principles is an asset (not required)
What You’ll Gain:
- Hands-on experience coaching varsity athletes
- Exposure to sport science technology (force plates, timing gates, monitoring tools)
- Mentorship and professional development from Strength & Conditioning staff

Resume-building experience in high-performance sport
