Today, we’re proud to spotlight Jetske Kingma, Marine Engineering Instructor at the Canadian Coast Guard Academy.

Jetske began her career as a Marine Engineering Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy before joining the Coast Guard. Bringing both technical expertise and real-world experience at sea, Jetske plays an important role in supporting and inspiring the next generation of marine engineers.

Thank you, Jetske, for helping pave the way for women in engineering! 💙

After researching the Cape Breton Miners Museum in their ESL class, Officer Cadets had the opportunity to visit the site, speak with a local miner, and connect their classroom learning to real-world experiences.

The Canadian Coast Guard Academy participates in an ongoing international exchange program with the Japan Coast Guard Academy. This bilateral initiative allows officer cadets from both nations to travel overseas to experience different training methods and work together to protect their respective oceans.

Each year, this program sees one second-year officer cadet selected for this unique opportunity.
This year, we are proud to wish Issac Joseph the very best of luck as he prepares to take on this role when he departs today.
