Cape Breton University is seeking proposals from qualified proponents to operate and manage the Kehoe Forum Canteen.

We are seeking a vendor capable of delivering food and beverage services in a cost-effective, professional and efficient manner with a strong focus on serving families, youth and community members.

The newly renovated Kehoe Forum is recognized as the first arena in Canada dedicated to female hockey, with ice allocation prioritizing female sport programming. The Home of Women's Hockey serves Blizzard female hockey, CAPERS women's hockey, CB Women's Hockey League and sledge hockey programs.

Cape Breton University, in partnership with the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia (TIANS), is proud to offer a scholarship program which supports the professional development of tourism leaders by providing financial assistance to pursue a Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management (BHTM) degree at CBU.

A total of $30,000 in scholarships are available to eligible students for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Cape Breton University is proud to announce that an international collaborative network, anchored at CBU, has been awarded a $499,993 Insight Grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.

The project is designed to create concrete frameworks that foster the success, well-being and sustainability of Indigenous scholars and researchers within these academic environments.

CBU Inclusive is a program available for students aged 18-24 who have an intellectual or developmental disability, but do not meet the admission criteria set by the University for credit study.

Students can take a participatory audit between one and three courses each semester, as well as access services through the Jennifer Keeping Centre and support from peer mentors.

Health insurance is mandatory for all CBU students, with the exception of applicable opt-outs.

For Canadian Students - if you have your own coverage through an employer, parent or are sponsored by an Indigenous Band Council, you may be eligible to opt out.

For International Students - If you have a Nova Scotia Government Health Insurance (MSI) Card, you may be eligible to opt out of Plan A and opt for reduced coverage.

Students must opt out between July 22 and September 14, 2026.
