Land Pedagogy: Classroom in the Field
Learn with the land as your teacher

Now enrolling — only 8 spots available!

This hands-on, land-based course invites students to step out of the classroom and into the field. Working alongside Elders and knowledge keepers, you'll take part in a full seasonal cycle of land-based practice — gardening, beekeeping, medicine teachings, and harvesting and preparing food from the land — while exploring the Indigenous philosophies that bring these practices to life.

Grounded in Indigenous land-based pedagogy and delivered through work-integrated learning, the course asks you to understand land not as a backdrop or a resource, but as a living teacher: a source of knowledge, responsibility, and renewal.

Students receive a $1,200 stipend, supported by CEWIL, for their participation in this work-integrated learning experience.

Space is limited to 8 students — reserve your spot today by contacting Dr. Asfia Kamal: [email protected]
Or Gurpreet Singh: [email protected]

This is a great opportunity for students to see what is available to them within the community to help support them in and out of the classroom. Please stop by to see what our community resources could do for you!
