At our Staff Recognition Chapel, we recognized and celebrated Michael Fox for serving at Prairie College, through PATC, for 25 years!

Michael graduated from Prairie in 1991 with a Bachelor of Religious Education degree and went on to become one of the first students in flight training at PATC in 1992. Today, he serves as a Class 1 Flight Instructor and Class 1 Aerobatic Instructor in Prairie’s Aviation program and is also a Transport Canada–approved Pilot Examiner.

Michael and his wife, Kelli, a 1994 Prairie graduate, enjoy raising their two daughters in a small-town community while staying actively involved in their church and local community. We are grateful for alumni like the Fox family, who have invested in the next generation for the past 25 years!

At the end of our school year at the Staff Recognition Chapel, we had the privilege of recognizing and celebrating Dr. James Enns for 40 years of faithful service at Prairie College and Prairie Christian Academy!

Dr. Enns spent 15 years at Prairie High School, where he taught multiple subjects, coached girls’ volleyball, and later served as principal from 1995 to 1998, earning Alberta’s Excellence in Teaching Award in 1992. It was also at Prairie High School where he met his wife, Anne, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in Prairie’s community. While Dr. Enns later transitioned into administration and joined Prairie College in 2000, Anne continued teaching in the Prairie High School Art Department for nearly four decades before retiring in 2022.

Together, they built a lasting Prairie legacy, raising three daughters who graduated from Prairie and growing their family to include nine grandchildren. Dr. Enns later earned advanced degrees, including a PhD in History from the University of Cambridge, and today continues investing in students as our Professor of Church History, while also serving as Priest-in-Charge at St. Barnabas Anglican Church. Prairie would not be the same without Dr. James Enns. Thank you, Dr. Enns, for 40 years of faithful service!

We are pleased to announce a transformative chapter in our 103-year history. On May 14, 2026, Bill Pr2: Prairie Bible Institute Amendment Act, 2026, officially received Royal Assent, formally updating the institution’s charter and expanding its academic horizons within the province of Alberta.
Bill Pr2 authorizes Prairie College, in addition to offering divinity degrees, to deliver programs of study approved under Alberta’s Post-secondary Learning Act and its associated regulations, leading to the conferral of baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

This brings us one step closer to opening applications for the Bachelor of Education program. We hope to welcome our first class of students in September 2026.

We want to express our gratitude to our MLA, Tara Sawyer, who sponsored the Bill and served as a helpful and encouraging guide throughout the process.
