At the end of our school year at the Staff Recognition Chapel, we had the privilege of recognizing and celebrating Dr. James Enns for 40 years of faithful service at Prairie College and Prairie Christian Academy!
Dr. Enns spent 15 years at Prairie High School, where he taught multiple subjects, coached girls’ volleyball, and later served as principal from 1995 to 1998, earning Alberta’s Excellence in Teaching Award in 1992. It was also at Prairie High School where he met his wife, Anne, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in Prairie’s community. While Dr. Enns later transitioned into administration and joined Prairie College in 2000, Anne continued teaching in the Prairie High School Art Department for nearly four decades before retiring in 2022.
Together, they built a lasting Prairie legacy, raising three daughters who graduated from Prairie and growing their family to include nine grandchildren. Dr. Enns later earned advanced degrees, including a PhD in History from the University of Cambridge, and today continues investing in students as our Professor of Church History, while also serving as Priest-in-Charge at St. Barnabas Anglican Church. Prairie would not be the same without Dr. James Enns. Thank you, Dr. Enns, for 40 years of faithful service!
