Yesterday August 27, Marc Veilleux, Program Coordinator, and Denver Leonard, Motive Power – Heavy Equipment Professor, had the pleasure of visiting SMS Equipment - Timmins Branch for a fantastic and informative site tour.

A sincere thank you to Guy Turgeon, Sales Manager, and his team for welcoming us and showcasing their outstanding facility. We truly appreciated the open discussion with their upper management regarding current workforce challenges in the Motive Power – Heavy Equipment trade, as well as the shared realities we face in attracting potential students to this field.

The exchange of information was incredibly valuable, and we are grateful for the time, insight, and hospitality SMS Equipment provided. Strengthening partnerships like this helps us better prepare students for the evolving needs of industry and supports the development of future skilled trades professionals.

We look forward to continued collaboration with the SMS Equipment Inc. team.
