Posted • September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as 🧡

Algoma University will be hosting events to honour this significant day on Friday, Sept. 29th. Join us in wearing orange shirts to raise awareness about the intergenerational impacts of the Indian Residential School system and support the movement.

We'll also encourage the community to stand together, learn, and support the journey toward healing and reconciliation. Join us for a series of in-person and virtual events that are open to all:

🧡 Shingwauk Site Truth Walks: Explore the history and significance of our campus sites

🗣️ Keynote Address by Shirley Horn: Hear truth and gain insight from a respected Elder and Survivor

🎥 Virtual Film Screening with Zoe Hopkins: Watch "Run Woman Run," celebrating resilience and Indigenous presence in film. Followed by a Q&A.

🕯️ Candlelight Vigil: Join us on our Sault Ste. Marie campus and virtually as we honour victims and Survivors.
