Today’s Clean Toronto Together – Spring Cleanup event was a great success! 🌱

Proudly coordinated by the MCC & SGC Alumni Association of Ontario, Canada, this initiative brought together dedicated volunteers committed to making our community cleaner, greener, and more vibrant.

From Victoria Park & Danforth to Dawes & Danforth, the energy, teamwork, and community spirit were truly inspiring. A big thank you to everyone who participated and contributed their time and effort.

Together, we are making a difference—one step at a time. 💚

কানাডার অন্টারিও-র এমসিসি ও এসজিসি অ্যালামনাই অ্যাসোসিয়েশন একটি অর্থপূর্ণ শহরব্যাপী বসন্তকালীন পরিচ্ছন্নতা অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করতে পেরে গর্বিত, যা আমাদের সম্প্রদায়কে একটি পরিচ্ছন্ন ও সবুজতর পাড়া গড়ার লক্ষ্যে একত্রিত করবে।

Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Professor Abdul Baki Chowdhury, former Principal of MC College, renowned educationist, and distinguished Professor & Head of the English Department at MC College. He also served with great dedication as the Chairman of the Sylhet Education Board and Principal of Sylhet Government College.

Professor Abdul Baki Chowdhury passed away last Monday at Sylhet Heart Foundation. His immense contributions to education and his lifelong dedication to shaping generations of students will always be remembered with respect and gratitude.

May Almighty Allah grant him Jannatul Ferdous and give strength and patience to his family, students, and well-wishers during this difficult time.

Alhamdulillah 🤲🌙

Today’s beautiful Iftar gathering was successfully organized by the MCC & SGC Alumni Association of Ontario, Canada. It was a wonderful evening filled with unity, brotherhood, and the true spirit of Ramadan.

Alumni members, families, and friends came together to break their fast, share memories, and strengthen our bond as one community. The atmosphere was warm and joyful, reminding us of our cherished days at Murari Chand College and Sylhet Government College.

May Allah (SWT) accept our fasting, prayers, and duas, and continue to bless our alumni association with unity and success.

Ramadan Mubarak to everyone! 🌙✨

মুরারি চাঁদ কলেজের প্রাক্তন বাংলা অধ্যাপক, বিশিষ্ট লেখক এবং সম্মানিত গবেষক ডক্টর শফি উদ্দিন আহমেদের মৃত্যুতে আমরা গভীরভাবে শোকাহত।

ড. শফি উদ্দিন আহমেদ ঢাকায় ইন্তেকাল করেছেন। ভাষা, সাহিত্য এবং একাডেমিক গবেষণার প্রতি তাঁর আজীবন নিবেদন তাঁর ছাত্র, সহকর্মী এবং বৃহত্তর সাহিত্য সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে একটি স্থায়ী উত্তরাধিকার রেখে গেছে। তাঁর শিক্ষাদান এবং লেখার মাধ্যমে তিনি জ্ঞান, সংস্কৃতি এবং সমালোচনামূলক চিন্তাভাবনাকে মূল্য দিতে প্রজন্মকে অনুপ্রাণিত করেছিলেন।

শিক্ষা এবং বাংলা সাহিত্যে তাঁর অবদান সর্বদা গভীর শ্রদ্ধা ও কৃতজ্ঞতার সাথে স্মরণ করা হবে।

ইন্না লিল্লাহি ওয়া ইন্না ইলাইহি রাজিউন।

🇧🇩 54th Victory Day of Bangladesh – Honouring Our Freedom & Remembering with Prayers 🇧🇩

MCC & SGC Alumni Association of Ontario, Canada proudly observed the 54th Victory Day of Bangladesh, celebrating the courage and sacrifice of our freedom fighters who gifted us an independent nation.

The event was presided over by our President, Mr. Ataur Rahman, and conducted by our General Secretary, Mr. Shabuj Chowdhury.

Alongside the celebration, a special Dua Mahfil was held for the late mother of Emad Hossain, who recently passed away in Bangladesh. May Almighty Allah grant her Jannah and eternal peace. 🤲

Let this day remind us of our unity, heritage, and lifelong bond with Bangladesh.

The MCC & SGC Alumni Association of Ontario, Canada successfully organized a Blood Donation Event today in collaboration with the Canadian Blood Services.

🩸 A huge THANK YOU to all the generous donors who rolled up their sleeves to give the gift of life. Your contribution will truly make a difference and bring hope to those in need. 💖

Together, we are stronger, and today we proved the power of community and compassion. 🙌

🌟 Reception Honoring Professor Azizur Rahman Laskar 🌟

Last Sunday, a reception was held at BCCS Centre in honor of distinguished educationist, mentor, artist, and scientific–religious speaker & Former Head of Botany Department MC College Professor Azizur Rahman Laskar.

The gathering brought together alumni and students of MC College and Sylhet Government College, celebrating Professor Laskar’s lifelong dedication to education, art, and knowledge.

🎤 Event Highlights:
• Welcome Speech by Professor Ataur Rahman, President of MCC & SGC Alumni Association
• Special Address by Professor Azizur Rahman Laskar, where he spoke on his two recently published works on Science and Religion
• Remarks by Alumni Member Gia’s Uddin, reflecting on Professor Laskar’s contributions and the significance of the event
• The program was conducted by General Secretary Shabuj Chowdhury

🤝 Alumni Members & Dignitaries in Attendance:
