Great ideas rarely die from lack of imagination. They die because nobody built the conditions for them to survive contact with an organization. Schulich ExecEd's Unleashing Innovative Momentum, a 3-day hybrid program, is designed for leaders who've watched good ideas stall out and want to understand why.

The program moves through how trust and influence create real team traction, how disruptive trends and AI are reshaping creative work and the neuroscience behind why change gets stuck and how to accelerate momentum once it starts. It's less about generating more ideas and more about building the climate that lets the ones you already have actually go somewhere.

The program is taught by Andrew Maxwell, Jim Harris, Lee-Anne McAlear, and Megan Mitchell, and can be combined with Strategic Innovation and Creative Leadership and Futureproof Your Organization toward a Masters Certificate in Innovation Leadership.

If you've ever led a great initiative that quietly ran out of steam, this program is worth a look: https://execed.schulich.yorku.ca/program/unleashing-innovative-momentum/

Most people are promoted into management because they were good at their previous job, not because anyone taught them how to lead. Schulich ExecEd's Management 2: The Advanced Managers Course is for the managers who felt that gap and are ready to close it.

This program tackles the parts of management that rarely get taught directly: leading through change, building teams that actually perform, managing with emotional intelligence, and making sound decisions under pressure. It's led by a faculty team that brings both academic depth and real industry experience: Haniyeh Yousofpour, PhD; Kristina Riis; Michelle Saba, CPIR, VP of Communications at Cineplex; and Stephen Friedman, MA Psych. It can be paired with Management 1: The New Managers Course toward a Masters Certificate in Management.

Organizations that survive a cyberattack aren't always the ones with the most sophisticated technology. They're the ones where accountability and response protocols were established before the crisis began.

Schulich ExecEd's new program, Certificate in Digital Risk, is built to close that gap. Delivered online over 18 hours, it equips professionals to treat digital risk as a matter of governance and organizational resilience, not solely a technical concern.

Participants examine today's threat landscape, including ransomware, AI-enabled attacks, and third-party vendor exposure, and work through building governance structures with clear accountability, developing incident response plans, and leading a live disruption simulation that replicates the coordination demands of a real crisis.

The program culminates in a Digital Risk Tabletop Exercise (TTX), where participants apply risk-informed decision-making, coordinate across leadership and stakeholder groups, evaluate response effectiveness, identify gaps and develop actions to strengthen organizational resilience.

Managing in a unionized environment means making decisions that are fair, consistent and grounded in a clear understanding of the rules.

Schulich ExecEd’s Managing in a Unionized Work Environment program helps managers navigate the realities of labour relations with greater confidence. Participants explore the legislation, collective-agreement provisions and management practices that shape day-to-day workplace decisions.

From performance conversations and attendance issues to discipline, harassment, grievances and employee relations, the program focuses on how to address concerns early, communicate clearly and maintain constructive working relationships.

Online | October 22 to 23, 2026 | 9 AM to 4 PM

Ever walked away from a negotiation wishing you'd said something differently?

Schulich ExecEd's Certificate in Advanced Negotiations helps you turn that hindsight into foresight, building the practical skills to negotiate and influence with confidence in any setting.

You'll discover your personal negotiation style through self-assessment and facilitator feedback, learn when to apply competitive versus collaborative approaches for better outcomes, and practice through simulated role-plays, case studies, and group breakout activities. The focus throughout is on building influence, not just authority, so you can get what you want at any level of an organization.

Organizations know data and AI can drive better decisions, but knowing where to start is often the harder problem.

Schulich ExecEd's Applied Graduate Certificate in AI Driven Business Intelligence is built to close that gap. It develops the three core competencies professionals need to turn data into results: data analytics, project management, and communication strategies.

Participants learn to frame and operationalize a data strategy aligned with business goals, translate complex datasets into insights using descriptive and predictive analytics, and apply generative AI tools such as large language models, image and sound classification, and retrieval-augmented generation. The program also builds skills in leading AI-enabled projects, guiding organizational change, and communicating insights through storytelling rather than raw numbers. It's designed for professionals who already bring domain knowledge and want to bridge the gap between technical potential and business impact.

When the path forward isn’t clear, leaders are expected to bring clarity.

Schulich ExecEd’s Executive Leadership program is for experienced leaders navigating bigger decisions, competing priorities and constant change. It offers an opportunity to step back from day-to-day demands, reflect on how you lead and consider what your organization needs next.

The program explores practical leadership questions: How do you make better decisions under pressure? How do you create alignment across teams, encourage innovation without losing momentum and lead in a way that delivers lasting results?

Deepen your learning through a Peer Leadership Learning Circle, where you’ll develop your leadership goals and explore how to apply the program’s ideas in your own context.

You’ll leave with fresh perspective, candid input from peers and practical insights you can put into action.

Every organization is managing risk. Not every leader knows how to do it well.

Schulich ExecEd's Masters Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management and Governance gives you the framework for that: how to identify risk, build a governance structure around it, and deliver recommendations that senior leadership and the board take seriously. It's not theory for its own sake; you'll walk out with a risk profile and reporting approach you can bring straight back to your organization.

The program runs across three standalone modules, so you can take the full certificate or just the module(s) you need. This fall's cohort starts October 21, 2026.

It's designed for people who are already making risk decisions, and it now covers how AI and emerging tech are reshaping risk identification and governance, not just the traditional frameworks.
