Entente District 24 Scarborough and East York We’re the local district of Entente Education Canada (formerly RTOERO), a bilingual, trusted voice for healthy, active aging in Canada’s education community.

The District 24 Executive Committee (of the Retired Teachers' Organization) schedules meetings from September to June. We are a non-profit organization meeting the needs of retired members from the field of Education. This group sponsors and facilitates activities, events, and programs for its District 24 members.

The Entente Education Canada District 24 Knitters and Crafters have, for the last several years, been producing creative Twiddlem**fs for Dementia and Alzheimer's patients at various Scarborough and East York Long Term Care Homes. These are appreciated by the recipients for their comforting and stimulating properties. The Crafters use donated materials to not only create the m**f but also to decorate it with items that the recipients can manipulate and fo**le to keep their hands busy. Yarn (acrylic only) is the most appreciated donation so if you have some, even small quantities, we would be able to use it for our endeavours. A Remarkable Success at the May 12 Retirement Planning Workshop! Thanks to Entente Education Canada and District 24 promotions, 91 registrants attended this most successful even
Each attendee was given their own retirement booklet while following the parallel slide show that Colleen Knox provided. The workshop was designed to
a. Help people understand the retirement landscape
b. Clarify how pensions, government programs and insurance work
c. Learn the right questions to ask

The event was a huge success and well received due to the expertise of the speaker and her interactive responses to the participant enquiries.
