Join the U of T Scarborough Library on an 8-week journey to learn about AI and Large Language Models.

Presented in Tamil, this webinar series is designed to take students and enthusiasts from the foundational logic of Artificial Intelligence to the cutting-edge operationalization of Large Language Models (LLMs). Drawing its curriculum from the comprehensive Artificial Intelligence book by Dr. Tamil Arasan Bakthavatchalam, these Tamil-language sessions will blend technical depth with practical intuition. This ensures participants understand not just how these models work, but how to build, align, and interact with them using both English and Tamil contexts.

A story kept alive through generations.

The U of T Scarborough Library Archives and Special Collections holds a remarkable collection sustained by deep family ties. For 35 years, Susili Wilson and her family carefully safeguarded S.J.V. Chelvanayakam’s archives before donating them to the Library in 2017.

Thanks to their dedication, the UTSC Library now provides access to an important piece of Tamil history and legacy for the entire U of T community.

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities. It coincides with Orange Shirt Day, inspired by Phyllis (Jack) Webstad’s story.

To support reflection and learning, UTSC Library staff have curated a powerful reading list to help deepen understanding and encourage action toward reconciliation.

📚 Visit the link in bio to explore the reading list and join us in recognizing our shared responsibility.
