The Thormódsdalur project in Iceland is a historically known gold-bearing, low-sulphidation epithermal system that was initially discovered in 1903 when two Icelandic farm boys picked up pieces of white quartz from a stream, which proved to be gold-bearing.

This is a projection of the former drill holes at Thor's Valley shown in 3D space. Many of the former holes were not tested deeper than 150m.

For Aurania's drill program, wireline diamond drilling is being used to retrieve core, and Finland-based drilling contractor, Arctic Drilling Company Oy Ltd, is doing an exceptional job.

Our first hole is finished at the Thor's Valley Project in Iceland and the rig is now at hole 2!

Aurania has engaged a Finland-based drilling contractor – Arctic Drilling Company Oy Ltd – to carry out the program to diamond drill six holes for a total of approximately 770 metres at Thor’s Valley.
