Our Industrial Woodworking Technician students recently hosted a student showcase, putting their talent, creativity and craftsmanship on full display!

As part of their final year, students designed and crafted stunning pieces of furniture that showcase the skills they’ve developed throughout their program, from working with the natural beauty of wood to precision construction and finishing.

The showcase was a celebration of their hard work and an exciting look at the talented tradespeople they’re becoming.

The Humber FAST ICT Capstone Project Expo was a showcase of talent, creativity and innovation, featuring more than 50 capstone projects from 200+ students in the Class of 2026.

Representing Artificial Intelligence, Computer Programming, Information Technology Systems and Computer Systems Technician, these projects gave students the opportunity to put their knowledge into action, tackle real-world challenges and demonstrate the skills they’ll take with them into their careers.

A special thank you to our industry partners for helping make these experiences possible and for investing in the next generation of technology professionals.

🌱 Building stronger communities. Designing a more sustainable future.

Our Capstone Showcase highlighted the exceptional work of graduating students from Humber Polytechnic’s Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, and Sustainability programs, demonstrating how innovation, sustainability, and collaboration are shaping the future of the built environment.

Representing work from three graduating Architectural Technology studio sections, 10 students were selected to exhibit projects that demonstrated innovation, technical excellence, sustainability, and meaningful community impact.

Their work highlighted creative approaches to shaping the future of the built environment through interdisciplinary collaboration and design-driven solutions.

While the showcase featured a selection of projects, it also reflected the dedication, talent, and hard work of the entire graduating class.

Congratulations to Tavish Legacy & Tete Soto on capturing GOLD in the Mechatronics competition at the Skills Canada National Competition!

This is the fourth year in a row that Team Humber has won gold in the Mechatronics category.

The Skills Canada competition showcases the value of hands-on learning, technical expertise, and real-world experience in shaping the future workforce. It also highlights the exciting opportunities available to those pursuing careers in the skilled trades.

Humber students have a proud tradition of excellence at Skills competitions, and Tavish & Tete’s success is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and the unwavering support of their coaches. Their achievements continue Humber’s legacy of success on the provincial, national, and international stage.

When our students are challenged, they rise and often exceed every expectation!

Humber Polytechnic was proudly front and centre at the
Skills Ontario Competition, where more than 50 Humber students demonstrated not only their technical expertise, but also their resilience and determination. This strong showing continues a long-standing tradition of excellence at Skills, where Humber students consistently distinguish themselves at the provincial, national, and international levels.

Since September, these competitors have committed themselves to refining their craft, dedicating countless hours to practice, collaboration, and problem-solving. Their perseverance and focus have been evident every step of the way. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the faculty advisors whose mentorship and on-site support played a vital role in this success, representing Humber with pride and distinction.

The Humber FAST Information & Communications Technology Capstone Project Expo brought together an inspiring showcase of creativity, innovation, and teamwork. The event featured more than 75 capstone projects developed by more than 200 graduating students from
postgraduate programs, including:

As a cornerstone of Humber Polytechnic’s polytechnic approach, these capstone projects give students the chance to put their learning into practice while highlighting the skills they’ve built throughout their studies. Supported by industry partners, students addressed real-world challenges with practical, forward-thinking solutions—demonstrating their readiness to step into the workforce.
