Voting is now open for the 2026 Global Creative Graduate Showcase, featuring work by OCAD University alums Jayden Rostie, Matt Trinh and Yasa Wahab.

Now in its seventh edition, the international showcase brings together graduating students from creative disciplines around the world.

Emerging from a pool of more than 35,000 creatives, the three alums are among those included in this year’s shortlist.

🎬 Jayden Rostie - 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘯, a four-and-a-half-minute animated short inspired by traditional fairy tales and ocean mythology.

🗿 Matt Trinh - 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘏𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘔𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘦, an installation that explores nature as both metaphor and medium, examining society’s tendency to use domestic distractions to mask a deeper sense of emptiness.

🚪 Yasa Wahab - 𝘑𝘶𝘬𝘦, a record player table inspired by the design language of 1950s jukeboxes. The piece combines bent plywood with walnut veneer, a solid maple tambour door and a custom sand-cast bronze handle shaped like a gramophone horn.

On October 3rd, during Nuit Blanche, Toronto’s waterfront becomes a massive canvas for immersive art and climate reflection when two large-scale projection artworks illuminate the Canada Malting Silos.

Presented by European Union in Canada and Global Centre for Climate Action at OCAD University, “The Light” by Irish artist Paul Murnaghan and “Melting Temporalities” by Canadian artists Claire Brunet and Johnny Ranger, will transform the silos into an immersive journey through water, ice, forests and living ecosystems.

Your portfolio is more than a collection of work, it’s a chance to show how you think, make and create.

Our upcoming Portfolio Clinics are 1-day workshops for learners ages 15+ who are interested in pursuing a creative pathway towards post-secondary education.

Across 2D and 3D materials, art and design approaches, you’ll get hands-on experience, professional insights and the opportunity to create portfolio-ready work. Workshops are led by OCAD U faculty who are professionals in their fields, giving you the chance to explore different techniques, mediums and approaches to studio practice.

Want to build a portfolio that shows the full range of what you can do? Take 3 different Portfolio Clinics and develop a more robust, well-rounded body of work while exploring different ways of working and making. Here are the available dates:

On September 25th, join us for Canadian premiere of “Breathe” by Faisal Anwar at SILO NIGHTS, curated by OCAD University, at Public Pier. “Breathe” transforms the Purple Martin’s 5,000-mile migration from Brazil to North America into a living sky across the Canada Malting Silos. Presented in partnership with The Blackwood Gallery, University of Toronto Mississauga. Special thanks to Goethe-Institut Toronto. Public Pier created in collaboration between The Bentway, Harbourfront Centre, OCAD University and The Waterfront BIA, with Toronto Port Authority as lead sponsor.
