Tipping is declining in Canada as Canadians are increasingly frustrated with tipping prompts. Prof Wayne Smith says payment terminals may contribute to “social anxiety” around tipping because customers feel pressured to make a decision as staff watch.

Canada has a certain tipping culture that has left many fatigued, with people sometimes taking to the internet to share their grievances.

-was named " Distinguished Member cm laude" by the Association for Information Systems

-won the inaugural Mid-Career Award given by the Canadian Chapter of the Association for Information Systems.
