Our Grade 1-3 Drawing class blasted off to outer space today! For this project, we learned how to draw an astronaut’s space suit, a rocket ship, and a satellite. We then learned how to use pen shading techniques to make our drawings come to life, and used acrylic paint markers to create an outer space background on black paper. Take a closer look to see who’s inside those space suits! Great work, Austin O (Gr3), Seth W (Gr3), James H (Gr3), Yina Y (Gr2), Ethan Y (Gr2), and Izzy L (Gr1)!

This week marked the final week of our lunchtime art programs at and the penultimate meeting of our art program at . We’ve had a wonderful time creating with all of these young artists, and this week was no exception. For this project we used our creativity to come up with our own cartooning-inspired “animate fruit bowls”. We learned how to draw different facial expressions and tried to create a story using only our compositions. These fantastic drawings were made by Valentina, Noah, Victoria, and Tommy (JFPS), and Sadie and Evie (JWPS).

Summer camps are just around the corner. Visit our website to register for a week of creative fun! Several weeks are already at capacity.
