📸✨ Behind the scenes at Humber Polytechnic!

Media Communications 3rd semester students are hard at work in the studio this week, transforming concepts into compelling visual stories for their advertorial design projects.

From product photography and lighting setups to directing models and refining creative details, students are gaining hands-on experience with the tools and techniques used throughout the media industry.

Humber Music is welcoming high school students, contemplating post-secondary studies in Music, to join our Music Faculty for Humber’s Audition Prep Workshop this fall. There are On-line and On-Campus options.

This Audition Preparation Workshop is an intensive one-day workshop led by Humber’s music faculty, that will prepare students for the entry requirements to Humber Polytechnic's Music Degree and Certificate programs. The workshop offers participants training in rudimentary and jazz music theory, ear training, instrument-specific performance technique and music production. Participants will come away with knowledge of what to expect at the music audition and useful tips on how to prepare for a successful experience.

🎉Congratulations to superstar student Ariesha Mais, a new graduate of Humber Polytechnic’s Honours Bachelor of Creative & Professional Writing program. Ariesha is off to the University of Guelph’s Creative Writing Master of Fine Arts in fall 2026, and she’ll spend the summer revising a fun-filled, young-adult novel called, The Secret Society of Pigeons. We can’t wait to read it when it’s out in the world.

🥇 1st place: Nadine Telesford, Martingrove Collegiate Institute, “Sardine Grey”
$750 prize + publication in Arrival magazine
🥈 2nd place: Sarah-Marie Scale, Arthur Voaden Secondary School, “Green Lanyard”
$500 prize + publication in Arrival. Sarah-Marie will also be joining Humber’s BCPW program this fall!

🎉 A win for Humber Comedy and the FMCAD community.

Congratulations to Arnab Sen, a recent honours graduate of Humber’s Comedy Writing & Performance program, on receiving the 2026 Tim Sims Encouragement Award from the Ontario Arts Foundation.

After leaving a full-time corporate career and moving to Toronto to pursue comedy, Arnab took a leap of faith that has led to this incredible recognition of his talent and potential.

Insider's Tour: ESCAPE HUMBER 🚀✨

Follow Theater Production student Nik Geddes to see behind the scenes of her team creating Humber’s one-of-a-kind space-themed escape room. This immersive experience brought together students from Theater Production, Web Development, and Multimedia Design & Development in an exciting cross-disciplinary collaboration.

The response was incredible. Every spot was fully booked a week before Doors Open, and participants were completely immersed in the challenges, storytelling, and sensory experience.

Projects like this give students the opportunity to collaborate across industries, build real-world skills, and create unforgettable experiences. Stay tuned for more innovative projects and events from the Faculty of Media, Creative Arts & Design 🎭🌌
