U of T Hungarian Studies Student Conference 2015 Paprika, Pálinka, and Politics: Variations on Themes in Hungarian Studies - Hungarian Studies Conference held at the Munk School on October 16, 2015.

The Hungarian Studies program at the University of Toronto is proud to announce the first annual conference in association with the Centre for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies (CERES) at the Munk School of Global Affairs on October 16, 2015. We invite undergraduate and graduate students from any academic discipline to participate by submitting paper proposals or by attending the conference.

Participation by students from previous years is also welcome. Papers on all areas of interest to the Hungarian Studies community may be submitted. Keeping with the theme of the conference, we encourage papers that address the diversity of current research and encompass a wide range of multidisciplinary perspectives relating to Hungarian Studies. Topics for papers may include, but are not limited to, literary criticism, linguistics, nationalism, public policy, immigration, changing identities, minority studies, folklore, and social criticisms. Undergraduate students are especially encouraged to submit in-course or independent research papers. The aim of this conference is to provide a platform for undergraduate students at all levels and from a variety of backgrounds to share their ideas, while promoting the diversity and inclusiveness of Hungarian Studies. This conference is organized by students for students. Call for paper submissions:

Paper proposals may be submitted in either English or Hungarian. Abstracts in Hungarian must be accompanied by an English translation. Presentations should be no longer than 20 minutes with an additional 5 minutes for discussion.
