extends a warm welcome to Lisa!

A New RSM Registrar!

Regis St. Michael’s Faculty of Theology is pleased to announce the appointment of Songsha (Lisa) Li as our new RSM Registrar. She will bring to this role a strong background in higher education administration, student services, and academic records management, together with a deep commitment to the mission of Catholic education.

Lisa holds a Master of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto and has nearly four years of experience supporting students and faculty in the academic department of a post-secondary institution. Part of her student volunteer work was at the Centre for International Experience at the University of Toronto. Lisa also comes with experience in administration and communications for a parish in the Archdiocese of Toronto, as well as with the Catholic Teachers Guild.

Lisa will join the Dean’s office team, working alongside Prof. Jaroslav Skira (Dean), along with Emil Iruthayathas (Director, Office of the Dean) and Patrick Nolin (Student Engagement and Admissions Officer).

Please join us in welcoming Songsha (Lisa) Li to the Regis St. Michael’s community and in wishing her every success in this important role. Her official start date will be August 24.

extends a warm welcome to Dr. Yi!

Dr. Jizhang Yi has been appointed Director of the Institute for Humanistic Buddhist Thought & Practice in the Trinity College, Toronto, Faculty of Divinity!

Dr. Yi received his conjoint PhD in Philosophical Theology from Trinity College and the University of Toronto and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard University. His research spans comparative philosophy, theology and religious studies, with particular interests in Chan/Zen Buddhism, Humanistic Buddhism, existential philosophy and interreligious dialogue. Having served as Interim Director, Dr. Yi has already made valuable contributions to the Institute and the Trinity community. In the past year, he helped establish the present Institute and organized the first international conference hosted by the Institute at the College. In his leadership role, he will continue to expand the research agenda and course offerings of the Institute.

We are delighted to celebrate Dr. Yi’s appointment and look forward to the continued growth and impact of the Institute under his leadership.
