Each year, the International Studies Symposium, an end-of-year conference organized by 8 upper year students, is held to shed light on a specific nation through an interdisciplinary approach, engaging its history, politics, economics, history, and culture.

This year, our Symposium team has fixed the spotlight on the Kingdom of Thailand - the first ever Southeast Asian country to be chosen for this project. This dynamic nation was chosen because of its rich and vibrant culture, its complex history with colonialism, its unique socio-political, gender, and religious structures, and its current political and economic landscape, providing us with many exciting issues to explore in further depth.

When countries cooperate and work together, it results in benefits and growth for both communities.

Here is an example of what can happen when instead of focusing on differences and divides between borders, we aim at cooperation and growth.

Laos overcomes its land-locked geography with overland cross-border infrastructure, boosting interconnectivity between countries in Southeast Asia.

As winter in many parts of South East Asia has been colder this year, this is how some of the elephant sanctuaries took care of their animals a few months back!

In recent decades,however, a new trend in Thai tourism has occured, with increasing exploration and trekking of Northern Thailand.
